Chicago’s PorchFest Returns to Lakeview and Roscoe Village

Applications are now open for residents and bands interested in participating in PorchFest, a beloved community event, in Chicago’s Lakeview and Roscoe Village neighborhoods. The events offer a unique opportunity for local musicians to perform and for residents to showcase their neighborhoods.

Lakeview PorchFest Details

PorchFest Lakeview will take place on Sunday, May 31st, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The event’s boundaries are defined by Grace Street to the north, Wolfram Street to the south, Racine Avenue to the east, and Ravenswood Avenue to the west.

Roscoe Village PorchFest Details

A second PorchFest event is scheduled for Sunday, June 28th, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Roscoe Village. This event will be held between Addison Street to the north, Wellington Avenue to the south, Ravenswood Avenue to the east, and Western Avenue to the west.

How PorchFest Works

Homeowners volunteer their porches as performance spaces for live music. The Lakeview Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce coordinates the performances, working to accommodate hosts’ preferences for musical artists and friends. However, the Chamber requests that homeowners and musicians refrain from independently coordinating performances.

Musician Information

Musicians can perform 45-minute sets with a 15-minute setup and takedown period between performances. Musicians are welcome to accept donations during setup. A ticket fee is required for visitors to receive an event map detailing porch locations and showtimes, with artists receiving 50% of the ticket revenue.

All musicians are responsible for providing their own equipment.

Important Dates & Ticket Information

The deadline for musicians to register for either the Lakeview or Roscoe Village event is Friday, April 3rd. Tickets for both PorchFest events are currently available for purchase.

  • Separate sign-up pages are available for each PorchFest event.
