Megan Thee Stallion is recovering after being hospitalized on Tuesday evening due to what her team described as “concerning symptoms.” The incident occurred during her performance in the Broadway show Moulin Rouge!, forcing her to cut the show short.
Medical Diagnosis Revealed
A spokesperson for the 31-year-old rapper confirmed to The Times on Wednesday that doctors determined the cause of her symptoms to be “extreme exhaustion, dehydration, vasoconstriction and low metabolic levels.” The Grammy-winning artist received treatment and has since been discharged to rest.
Performance Interrupted
According to reports from TMZ, Megan Thee Stallion, whose real name is Megan Pete, became “very ill” during Tuesday’s performance. The New York Fire Department responded to the Al Hirschfeld Theatre to assist a person experiencing difficulty breathing.
Role in 'Moulin Rouge!'
Megan Thee Stallion recently began her run in Moulin Rouge!, taking on the role of Moulin Rouge proprietor Zidler, previously played by Bob the Drag Queen. She debuted in the role last week.

The production’s website confirmed that Megan Thee Stallion will not perform in Wednesday’s afternoon and evening shows. However, she is expected to return to the stage on Thursday.
