First Thursday Riverside Artswalk

Experience the vibrant arts scene at the monthly First Thursday Riverside Artswalk, held from 6 to 9 p.m. Explore over 20 downtown venues with free entry, including museums, galleries, and studios. Over 120 artisan vendors line Main Street. The tour and parking are free.

“Popping Through the History of Popcorn”

Delve into the fascinating history of popcorn as part of the OC Libraries Culinary History series. Learn about its origins, from ancient Aztec traditions to its modern-day status as a movie theater staple. Two sessions are available: April 4 at 2 p.m. at the Los Alamitos-Rossmoor Library and April 18 at 1 p.m. at the Costa Mesa Donald Dungan Library.

Dodgers History Author Talk & Book Signing

Baseball enthusiasts can attend a free author talk, panel discussion, and book signing at the Downtown L.A. Public Library from 2 to 3:30 p.m. featuring Eric Vickrey and Steve Dittmore, with special guests Tom Hoffarth and Fred Claire. Former Dodgers general manager Fred Claire will discuss his book, “Extra Innings.”

Threads of HERstory Fashion Show

The Mission Inn Foundation and Toni Moore Clothing present a free fashion show celebrating women’s style and story. “Threads of HERstory” is scheduled from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Mission Inn Foundation & Museum in Riverside. Reservations are recommended.

Blessing of the Animals

Join Los Angeles Archbishop Jose Gomez for the annual Blessing of the Animals ceremony on Olvera Street from 2 to 3 p.m. This tradition, dating back to 1930, welcomes all friendly animals, regardless of religious affiliation. Entertainment will be available from noon to 4 p.m.

Whale of a Day at Point Vicente Lighthouse

Celebrate the 100th birthday of the Point Vicente Lighthouse at ‘Whale of a Day’ on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Enjoy arts and crafts, lighthouse tours, and potential gray whale sightings. Free parking and a shuttle are available.

Chino Valley Renaissance Fair

Experience a two-day festival filled with live music, entertainment, chalk art, and historical displays at the Chino Civic Center on April 11th and 12th. General admission, including live entertainment and vendors, is free. A beer garden will be presented by the Chino Valley Historical Society.

Cowboy Festival

Step back in time at the 27th annual Cowboy Festival in Newhall, running from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Enjoy live entertainment, Western vendors, and interactive fun. Some ticketed events are available for an additional cost.

Pasadena City College Lunchtime Concerts

Enjoy free lunchtime outdoor concerts on the West Patio of Pasadena City College on select Tuesdays and Thursdays at noon. Shows are 50 minutes long, weather permitting. Bring your own seating. The schedule includes: April 2 (Lancer Jazz Big Band), April 7 (Latin Jazz Ensemble), April 9 (Vocal Jazz Combo), April 21 (Jazzadena Vocal Ensemble), April 23 (Percussion Ensemble), April 28 & 30 (Jazz Combos).

Riverside Concert Band’s “Festival at Fairmount”

Celebrate the Riverside Concert Band’s 150th Anniversary with “Festival at Fairmount” on April 19th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Enjoy performances by multiple wind ensembles, including the Moreno Valley Wind Symphony and the Long Beach Concert Band. Bring a chair or blanket.

Acoustic Music Jam

Local musicians are hosting an acoustic music jam from 1 to 3 p.m. on the first Sunday of the month. Musicians age 18 and older are welcome to join in. The jam session is held at a local park.

Outdoor Adventures

Discovery Days at Centennial Farm

Take a free tour of Centennial Farm and learn about agriculture. “Farmers” will be stationed around the farm to provide information. Children can participate in hands-on activities like petting chicks and planting radish seeds. Reservations are required for groups of 10 or more.

WOW! World of Waterfronts: Voices from the Pier

Join PlacemakingUS for an evening on the Belmont Pier in Long Beach from 5 to 7 p.m. to share stories and learn about fishing traditions. No fishing license is required on the public pier.

Yoga on the Mountain

Start your day with Yoga on the Mountain at King Gillette Ranch at 9:30 a.m. with instructors Greg and Dawn, accompanied by live acoustic music. All skill levels are welcome. Bring your own yoga mat.

Scrapbooking Workshop

Enjoy a free movie screening of “North by Northwest” at a local venue. No registration is required – just show up and enjoy the film with family and friends.
