Violent Home Invasion in Beverly
A terrifying home invasion occurred at a $20 million seaside mansion in Beverly, Massachusetts, on the morning of Saturday, March 31, 2026. An armed suspect breached the 27,000-square-foot property just before 9 a.m., targeting the residence and its staff.
Ordeal of the Housekeeper
The homeowner, investment banker and business lawyer Thomas Swan III, described the incident as "just horrendous." According to Swan, the housekeeper was held at gunpoint throughout the ordeal. The assailant reportedly dragged the victim by her hair before tying her up and leaving her in the garage.
"She’s really, really special, but truly traumatized by this, truly traumatized," Swan stated. Despite the severity of the attack, the housekeeper managed to break free after the suspect fled the scene. She successfully escaped to a neighbor’s home to seek assistance.
Stolen Property and Investigation
The suspect escaped the mansion in a Porsche stolen from the property. Authorities later recovered the vehicle in Lynn, approximately 12 miles from the scene of the crime.
While Swan declined to provide a list of the missing items, he noted that the perpetrator appeared to have prior knowledge of the home. "They knew what they were after; they were looking for what they stole were some very specific and valuable things," he explained.
The Beverly Police Department is currently leading the investigation into the robbery, with assistance provided by the Massachusetts State Police. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to identify the suspect.
