The Seattle Seahawks made significant strides in strengthening their secondary during the second day of the 2026 NFL Draft. Following the selection of running back Jadarian Price in the first round, the team turned its attention to defensive backs.
Seahawks Add Defensive Talent
Seattle selected TCU safety Bud Clark with the 64th overall pick. Clark is highly regarded for his ability to create turnovers, having intercepted 15 passes during his collegiate career with the Horned Frogs.
The Seahawks then engaged in a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers, moving down from the 96th pick to the 99th. This move netted Seattle an additional sixth-round pick, number 216.
Cornerback Added to the Mix
At pick 99, the Seahawks chose Arkansas cornerback Julian Neal. Neal is a physically imposing player expected to contribute to the team’s pass coverage.
Notable Picks Around the League
The San Francisco 49ers made a surprising move by selecting Ole Miss receiver De’Zhaun Stribling early in the second round. They continued to add to their offense in the third round, choosing Indiana running back Kaelon Black.
The Arizona Cardinals addressed their quarterback position by drafting Miami’s Carson Beck in the third round. The Los Angeles Rams focused on improving their offensive line and tight end corps, selecting Ohio State’s Max Klare and Missouri’s Keegan Trost, respectively.
A notable trend throughout the second and third rounds was a surge in tight end selections, with eight players at the position being drafted – a higher number than anticipated.
Edge Rusher Class Remains
The Seahawks did not select an edge rusher on Day 2, with top prospects still available. This trend was mirrored league-wide, as players like Mike Washington and Jonah Coleman remained undrafted heading into Day 3.
Day 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft will resume on Saturday, April 25th, at 9 am PT, broadcast on ESPN, ABC, and NFL Network. Seattle currently holds the 188th and 216th picks in the sixth round and does not have selections in rounds 4, 5, or 7.
