The Wiregrass area is experiencing a break from recent wet weather on Thursday. Following two consecutive days of scattered showers and thunderstorms, mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies are expected throughout the day.

A stray shower is possible late in the afternoon, but overall conditions will be significantly drier. High temperatures will reach approximately 85°F, accompanied by light southeast winds of 5-10 mph.

Increasing Rain Chances Friday and Saturday

Friday's Forecast

The drier conditions will persist through Thursday night and into Friday morning. However, isolated showers and thunderstorms will begin to increase in coverage Friday afternoon and evening. The high temperature on Friday is forecast to be near 83°F.

Saturday Outlook

Saturday will be similar to Friday, with partly sunny skies and the possibility of a few scattered showers or thunderstorms. Highs will again reach around 85°F.

Easter Sunday: Highest Rain Probability

Easter Sunday is anticipated to have the highest chance of rain over the next several days. A weakening cold front will move into the area, bringing a band of scattered showers and potential thunderstorms Sunday afternoon and evening.

The probability of rain on Sunday is 60%, so planning for indoor activities is advisable. High temperatures will be slightly cooler, reaching near 80°F.

Looking Ahead: Drier Conditions Return

The wet weather pattern is expected to break down early next week. Monday will be dry with partly sunny skies and highs near 73°F.

Temperatures will remain seasonable in the mid to upper 70s through Wednesday as high pressure builds. Tuesday will feature mostly sunny skies, followed by partly cloudy conditions on Wednesday.

Beachgoers Beware

A high rip current risk is in effect through late Saturday night. Moderate chop is expected on coastal lakes and bays with southeast winds at 10-15 knots. Offshore seas will be around 3 feet.
