Fatal Pursuit Ends in Solano County
A high-speed chase that began in Napa County early Tuesday, March 31, resulted in the deaths of two individuals. The pursuit concluded approximately 20 miles away when the vehicle crashed outside of Travis Air Force Base in Solano County.
Details of the Incident
According to the Napa County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began shortly after midnight when a deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop for unspecified reasons. The pursuit took place on Highway 12, east of Highway 29.
Crash and Aftermath
At 12:17 a.m., the vehicle crashed into the visitor center parking lot at Travis Air Force Base. Following the impact, the vehicle burst into flames. Authorities reported that attempts to extinguish the fire were unsuccessful, and both the driver and the passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.
Ongoing Investigation
The Solano County Sheriff’s Office is currently leading the investigation into the fatal collision. As of Tuesday morning, the identities of the two deceased individuals had not been released. A spokesperson for the Solano County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to requests for comment regarding the incident.
