Taylor Dayne is cancer-free four years after being diagnosed with stage 2 colon cancer. The singer shared the news as she prepares for her first Las Vegas residency at Harrah's Las Vegas. Taylor Dayne Cancer Free Four YearsThe residency, titled Tell It to My Heart after her hit song, begins Nov. 24, 2026. The Grammy-nominated artist announced in 2022 that she had privately battled colon cancer. I have been cancer-free for four years now, she told Fox News Digital with a smile. I have been on the path of being very ardent about taking care of my health and being on top of my colonoscopies. There are no guarantees in life, but especially as women, we need to advocate for our health and be on top of our checkups, she said. Dayne said a routine checkup led to the discovery of a very aggressive polyp. She had already been diligent about colonoscopies when she was told she had a lot of polyps. It was through a routine checkup that they found a very aggressive polyp, she said. This is how quickly these things can escalate and really take a turn. But my mindset was, What do I do right now? I was very much in action mode. Dayne had no symptoms before her diagnosis. She stressed that routine screenings are essential and urged women to advocate for themselves. I was 50 years old, and they said, Now is the time to go in for this, Dayne, 64, said. It is not like that anymore, because of our food, our diets, what we are exposed to daily. You really have to think about your timeline earlier than we have ever done, she added.Colorectal Cancer Screening Age 45Most people are busy working, busy being parents, busy just being out there juggling. We cannot put our health on the sidelines. The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends adults at average risk begin colorectal cancer screening at age 45. That is down from the previous recommendation of 50.People at increased risk, including those with a family history, may need to start earlier. Dayne said colon cancer did not initially resonate with her or her family. She learned to be her own warrior and champion. It started with me asking, Why do I keep developing polyps? she said. You have to be your own champion, your own voice in getting the information you need, the plan you need. Her experience also taught her the importance of speaking up early. She noted that advocating for oneself can be harder when seriously ill. When you are that ill, there is very little that the person can do, she explained.Your advocate is usually your partner, your spouse, your best friend. But oftentimes, it is just yourself. It made me realize a lot of things. And I am so grateful, ever grateful. For me, it turned on a lightbulb, a desire to live, a desire to really push through things. She said the experience brought a lot of love to her heart. She has met many people she otherwise would not have met because they share something in common now. Survivors.Dayne Single Parent Raising ChildrenDayne said her renewed focus on health is tied to being present for her children. She was a single parent during the height of her touring career. Your kids do not think of you as having a career, she said. They do not think about your fame, your awards, the guest house. All they want is for their needs to be met. You are just mom to them. I became a very different touring artist then. And touring was the largest component of my career. But I was a single parent. I raised them. I was then the mother bird who needed to always come back to her nest. Dayne remains disciplined about her daily routine. She described herself as very religious with her morning ritual, whatever time it starts. I do my peptides. I do my collagen, she said. Whether her morning begins at one in the afternoon or five in the morning, she sticks to it.She is now ready to party with her fans in Las Vegas. The residency marks her first in the city, and she is approaching it with gratitude.
