Taryn Manning Involved in Heated Video Altercation with Holly Hartman

Actress Taryn Manning was recently featured in a video showing a heated confrontation with Holly Hartman, who appeared to be recording the incident. The footage, obtained by TMZ on March 30, allegedly shows Manning lunging toward Hartman and threatening to involve the police.

When Manning denied the physical aggression, Hartman reportedly responded, "Yeah you did. I have it," referencing the recording. Manning later addressed the footage on Tuesday, stating she did not wish to view it because she "don’t want to upset myself."

Manning Disputes Relationship Status and Addresses Hartman’s Situation

Manning emphasized that violence is unacceptable, but provided context regarding her relationship with Hartman. She claimed that Hartman, 36, has been living in her office because she is allegedly homeless.

The Orange Is the New Black star stated she has been trying to help Hartman for 18 years. Manning clarified that Hartman is not her girlfriend, but rather "a random girl that was a fan that I befriended 18 years ago." The actress concluded her statement by acknowledging the severity of the situation, saying, "It’s bad. This is bad."

History of Legal Disputes Between Manning and Hartman

This is not the first time Manning and Hartman have been involved in alleged physical altercations that led to legal action. Hartman previously sought a restraining order against Manning in 2016 following a dispute.

However, that restraining order was ultimately denied. Court documents indicated the denial occurred because the filing was made in Los Angeles while the alleged incident took place in New York.

Details from Past Allegations

In the 2016 filing, Hartman reportedly claimed Manning had engaged in severe abuse. These allegations included headbutting, whipping her with a wet towel, and spraying Windex into her eyes and mouth. Hartman also alleged Manning put her in a headlock, restricting her breathing.

Manning allegedly threatened Hartman, stating, “Pick a knife. I’m wearing a white shirt. There will be a lot of blood. You will be famous for killing Taryn Manning.”

Previous Arrest in 2012

Taryn Manning, pictured here at the Adventures of the Naked Umbrella premiere in 2023, was also arrested in 2012 for an alleged attack on Hartman. During that incident, Manning reportedly punched and kicked Hartman in the face and torso.

The allegations from 2012 also included choking Hartman and slamming her against the floor and wall after grabbing her hair. Manning faced two misdemeanor charges at the time: assault in the third degree and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation. Both of those charges were eventually dropped.
