Taryn Hatcher Secures New Broadcasting Role After NBCSP Exit
Sideline reporter Taryn Hatcher has found a new position with The CW network following a significant shakeup at NBC Sports Philadelphia (NBCSP). Hatcher confirmed the move, announcing she joined The CW broadcast team earlier this month.
Her new role involves covering the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA). Hatcher described the opportunity as "the perfect fit" during a recent interview. She expressed enjoyment in the new environment, stating it has been "so much more fun that I could’ve anticipated."
Details of The CW Assignment
Hatcher now serves as a reporter for The CW's PBA broadcasts, which air on Sundays at 4 p.m. Her duties include interviewing bowlers immediately following their victories. She is working alongside former NASCAR lead announcer Rick Allen and ex-professional bowler Kyle Sherman.
The current PBA season is scheduled to conclude on April 26. The PBA Tournament of Champions will be held in Fairlawn, Ohio, on that same date. Hatcher was recently seen covering the Illinois Classic in Decatur, Ill., for The CW in March 2026 as part of this new coverage.
Departure from NBC Sports Philadelphia
Hatcher was previously a familiar face at regional sports events, serving as the in-stadium sideline reporter for both the Philadelphia Phillies and the 76ers games on NBCSP.
NBCSP chose not to renew her contract after it expired following the 2025 season and subsequently eliminated the position. Alexandra Matcham, NBCSP’s vice president of content, explained that the network is shifting its storytelling strategy to target a broader audience and alter its coverage approach.
Health Update and Career History
The South Jersey native joined NBCSP in 2018, initially working as the rinkside reporter for the Flyers. She later transitioned to hosting pre- and postgame studio shows before securing the sideline role with the Phillies.
Hatcher revealed that after her departure from NBCSP, she received numerous job offers. However, she opted for short-term freelance assignments to prioritize an important health matter. She reassured concerned followers in the comments, stating, "Guys I AM OK... it’s just an important health thing I need to prioritize. I AM FINE."
