Bannon Demands Deportation for Yair Netanyahu
Steve Bannon, a former senior adviser to Donald Trump and a leading figure in the MAGA movement, has publicly called for the expulsion of Yair Netanyahu from the United States. Bannon suggested that the son of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should be sent to the front lines as joint US-Israeli strikes against Iran continue.
Speaking on the right-wing streaming platform Real America's Voice, Bannon questioned why Yair Netanyahu is currently vacationing in Miami. He explicitly called for the US Department of Homeland Security to intervene in the matter.
Calls for Military Service
Bannon's comments were direct, stating, "Netanyahu's kid down in Miami, turf him out tomorrow." He further urged authorities to put a uniform on him and include him in the first wave of military operations.
It is noted that neither Yair Netanyahu nor his brother, Avner, have completed Israel's mandatory military service, despite being of eligible age. Bannon extended his criticism beyond the Netanyahu family, suggesting that princes from Gulf Arab states currently residing in cities like London should also be sent to fight in the Gulf as the US considers potential ground operations.
Context of the Regional Conflict
The current tensions follow a series of air strikes conducted by the US and Israel against Iran, which began on February 28. These operations have resulted in over 1,340 deaths, including the death of the then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
In retaliation, Iran has launched drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and various Gulf nations that host US military assets. These actions have caused significant infrastructure damage, casualties, and widespread disruption to global aviation and financial markets.
