Sam’s Club Announces Membership Price Increase

Sam’s Club, known for its bulk savings and warehouse format, will increase its annual membership fees for the first time since 2022. The changes will take effect on May 1, 2026, impacting both Club and Plus membership tiers.

New Membership Pricing Details

Starting May 1, 2026, the annual Club membership fee will increase from $50 to $60. The Plus membership will rise from $110 to $120 per year. These represent $10 increases for each tier.

No Action Required for Members

Sam’s Club members do not need to take any action regarding the price changes. The updated pricing will be automatically applied upon membership renewal. There are no opt-in requirements or deadlines to be aware of.

Benefits for Plus Members

Plus members will receive an added benefit with the price increase. The Sam’s Cash™ rewards cap is increasing from $500 to $750 per year, allowing members to earn up to $250 more in annual rewards on eligible purchases.

Company Statement on the Increase

A spokesperson for Walmart and Sam’s Club stated, “We have adjusted our membership pricing to support the things our members love.” The company plans to continue investing in member benefits, including expanded shopping options and competitive pricing.

Impact on Members and Comparison to Competitors

The $10 annual increase equates to less than $1 per month for Club members. Plus members who frequently reach the previous rewards cap may find the increased cap offsets the added cost. Sam’s Club remains competitively priced compared to other warehouse retailers like Costco.

Members are encouraged to review their current benefits and consider upgrading to Plus before the changes take effect on May 1, 2026.
