SEPTA Bus Struck by Gunfire in Philadelphia
Law enforcement officials have launched an investigation following an incident where a SEPTA bus was hit by gunfire in the Roxborough neighborhood of Philadelphia.
The vehicle involved was specifically identified as a Route 65 bus. Officials confirmed that the bus was taken out of service early Tuesday morning to allow for a thorough police inspection.
Discovery and Location of Incident
The discovery of the damage occurred at the intersection of Magdalena Street and East Walnut Lane. Police were seen inspecting the bus near this location overnight Tuesday.
SEPTA provided an update around 6:15 a.m., confirming that police were actively investigating the possibility that the Route 65 bus had been struck by a gunshot shortly after midnight.
Safety Status of Operator and Passengers
Fortunately, SEPTA confirmed that there were no passengers present on the bus when the shooting incident took place. Furthermore, the bus operator was reported to be completely unharmed by the event.
The vehicle remained out of service as the investigation into the shooting continued throughout Tuesday morning.
