Pelosi Raises Concerns About Election Technology

During an appearance on MS NOW’s “Way Too Early” on Tuesday, Representative Nancy Pelosi expressed apprehension about potential Republican efforts to undermine the integrity of the 2026 midterm elections. Pelosi stated that the GOP “may try to creep into the technology and create a false count.”

Focus on Protecting the Election Process

The discussion stemmed from a question about Democrats’ confidence in regaining control of the House of Representatives. Reporter Ali Vitali inquired about Pelosi’s concerns regarding the election process itself.

Safeguards and Vigilance

Pelosi highlighted the numerous measures already in place to safeguard elections, including litigation, legislation, and voter mobilization efforts. However, she stressed the importance of remaining vigilant against potential technological interference. “We have to be on guard as to what they may try to do to the technology,” she said.

Voting Methods and Past Statements

Pelosi also referenced previous statements made by former President Donald Trump regarding voting methods. She noted Trump’s criticism of mail-in voting, despite his and his family’s own use of the practice in the recent Florida election, which he lost. “There’s so many things that the Republicans will try to do to disrupt an election can be avoided with early voting, by vote, by mail,” Pelosi explained.
