Patriots RB TreVeyon Henderson Backs Jaden Ivey

New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson has publicly supported NBA player Jaden Ivey following his release from the Chicago Bulls. The decision to cut Ivey came after the basketball player voiced criticism regarding the NBA's promotion of Gay Pride Month.

Ivey's Criticism of Pride Night

Jaden Ivey previously released a series of videos targeting his former team, the Detroit Pistons, for hosting a Pride Night event. In his statements, Ivey characterized the event as "unrighteousness" and suggested that the organization's actions would not matter on "Judgment Day."

Ivey questioned the league's public stance on the issue, stating, "They proclaim Pride Month in the NBA. They proclaim it. They show it to the world. They say, ‘Come join us for Pride Month,’ to celebrate unrighteousness." He further expressed frustration that his own expressions of "righteousness" were met with claims that he was "crazy."

Henderson's Public Response

In response to the news of Ivey's release, TreVeyon Henderson utilized social media to offer his support. Henderson shared a video of Ivey's comments alongside a quote from the Bible: "‘Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.’ Matthew 5:10."
