New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson seemingly offered support to former Chicago Bulls guard Jaden Ivey following Ivey's controversial rant against the NBA's Pride Month observance.

Ivey posted a video on social media on Monday where he labeled the league's celebration of Pride Month as promoting "unrighteousness." Henderson, a second-year NFL player, responded to the news of Ivey's release by sharing a passage from the Bible on the platform X.

Henderson's Response to Ivey's Release

The Patriots star quoted Matthew 5:10, writing, "’Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.’" This public display suggests solidarity with the recently released player.

Jaden Ivey's Controversial Statements

Ivey, 24, has recently shared several videos expressing strong opinions, often touching upon his ongoing struggles with depression. In his latest video criticizing the league, Ivey questioned the right to speak righteousness when the NBA actively proclaims LGBTQ+ visibility.

"The world can proclaim LGBTQ, right? They proclaim Pride Month and the NBA. They proclaim it," Ivey stated in the video. He continued by saying the league encourages people to "celebrate unrighteousness" through billboards and public displays. He then asked, "So, how is it that one can’t speak righteousness? Who are they to say that this man is crazy?"

In a separate instance, Ivey also reportedly claimed that Catholicism is a false religion.

Chicago Bulls Address Ivey's Departure

Chicago Bulls head coach Billy Donovan addressed the situation, emphasizing that the organization employs individuals from "all different walks of life." Donovan made these remarks before the Bulls' game against the San Antonio Spurs.

Coach Donovan stressed the importance of professional conduct and mutual respect within the franchise. "Everybody comes with their own personal experiences, but one is we’ve got to all be professional," Donovan commented. He added that players must hold each other accountable to established organizational standards.

Coach Donovan's Hopes for Ivey

Donovan acknowledged Ivey's recent social media activity but expressed concern for the player's well-being. "I don't want to get into what he put out there, but certainly, I hope for him he's okay," Donovan said.

The coach noted that Ivey's primary focus recently had been on his rehabilitation efforts. He mentioned that Ivey had consistently expressed a desire to recover from his knee injury and return to playing. However, Donovan concluded that organizational standards must be upheld daily.
