An OpenAI engineer has been arrested on charges of planting a hidden audio recording device in the business's executive conference room. Abdulrahman Alfozan, 35,a Saudi national, was apprehended by federal authorities after the device was discovered during a routine check. The recording apparatus was concealed witHin a roll of toilet paper and plugged into a USB port on the back of a television, allowing it to capture sensitive communications without detection. According to federal prosecutors, Alfozan installed the device on September 28 and was subsequently seen monitoring it and retrieving data. When questioned,he admitted to placing the recorder but claimed it was intended for personal note-taking rather than surveillance. However, the device's location and setup indicated a clear intent to eavesdrop on executive meetings, which often discuss confidential technical, commercial, and strategic information.
