Search Efforts Expand for Missing Oakland Woman
Oakland police and sheriff’s deputies from across the Bay Area are actively searching for Amy Hillyard, a 52-year-old Oakland resident. The search, which included 60 friends and volunteers, focused on the Dimond Park area on Tuesday.
Last Seen and Description
Hillyard was last seen one week ago, on Tuesday, April 1, 2026. She is described as 5’4” tall and approximately 120 pounds, with hazel hair and blue eyes.
Clothing Description
At the time of her disappearance, Hillyard was wearing light blue jeans, a white shirt, and white tennis shoes with black stripes. Authorities are asking the public to be vigilant and check doorbell camera footage for any potential sightings.
“At Risk” Due to Medical Condition
Officials have stated that Hillyard is considered “at risk” due to a pre-existing medical condition. This has heightened the urgency and concern surrounding her disappearance.
Community and Law Enforcement Collaboration
Susan Eandi, a longtime family friend, shared, “She went for a walk, and that’s all we know.” Eandi added, “And she may have been a little disoriented. You saw that she has a medical condition, so there is some urgency and concern for that reason. and what we’re doing as a community and law enforcement is looking for Amy and looking to bring her home.”
Public Assistance Requested
Authorities are requesting that the public familiarize themselves with Hillyard’s appearance and report any information that may assist in locating her. They are specifically asking residents to review doorbell camera recordings.
