The Return of a Mid-2010s Icon

Nike is set to bring back the Air Foamposite Pro 'Gym Red' for its first-ever reissue this coming May. This upcoming release serves as a near one-to-one recreation of the original 2015 model, capturing the distinct aesthetic of that era.

Design Details and Notable Changes

The sneaker remains faithful to its roots, featuring a glossy red polyurethane shell and a prominent TPU Swoosh. It also includes a two-tone black-and-red carbon fiber support shank, complemented by black rubber traction pods on the outsole.

However, there is one notable difference for the 2026 version. The checkered carbon fiber print that appeared across the upper of the 2015 original has been omitted from this latest iteration.

Historical Context

The original 'Gym Red' Foamposite Pro was launched following the success of the 2014 Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Red October.” That release sparked a wave of all-red athletic footwear, influencing models like the Air Max 90, Air Huarache, and Air Max Plus. It remains to be seen if this revival will generate the same level of excitement as the original trend-setting release.

Release Information

The Air Foamposite Pro 'Gym Red' (style code HF0794-600) is scheduled to launch on May 29. The sneakers will be available through the Nike SNKRS app and select Nike Sportswear retailers at a retail price of $240.
