Illness and Hospitalization
The Grammy Award-winning rapper fell ill midway through Tuesday evening’s performance. A representative for the singer confirmed to Fox News Digital that Megan was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
Doctors diagnosed her with extreme exhaustion, dehydration, vasoconstriction, and low metabolic levels. She received treatment and has since been discharged, currently resting at home.
Megan Thee Stallion's Statement
Megan Thee Stallion shared her experience on Instagram, describing the incident as a “wake-up call.” She admitted to pushing herself too hard and running on empty, leading to her body’s reaction.
“I thought I was gonna faint on stage,” she wrote. “I just need one day to rest, reset, and take care of myself.” She assured fans she would return to the stage on Thursday, “stronger, clearer, and ready to give you 100 percent.”
Audience Reaction
Loren Lorosa, a media personality in attendance, documented the situation on X (formerly Twitter). She reported the show was stopped mid-performance, and the audience was asked to remain seated while updates were provided.
Historic Broadway Debut
Megan Thee Stallion began her eight-week run as The Zidler on March 24 at New York’s Al Hirschfeld Theater. She is making history as the first female performer to portray the role in any production of Moulin Rouge! worldwide.
In a February statement, Megan expressed her excitement about joining the Broadway production, stating, “Stepping onto the Broadway stage…is an absolute honor.” Producer Carmen Pavlovic hailed her as a “true global superstar” and a “force of nature.”
Return to the Stage
Megan Thee Stallion is scheduled to continue her run as The Zidler through May 17. She is expected to return to the stage on Thursday, following a day of rest and recovery.
