Los Angeles, CA – Michelle Dick, 54, has spoken out claiming Lindsey Buckingham is her father, following allegations of stalking and terrorizing the musician and his family.
Stalker Admits to Encounter, Denies Attack
Dick admitted to approaching Buckingham on March 25 in Santa Monica, but stated she did not consider her actions an attack. She revealed this information on Wednesday, adding, “One time, that was last year… But I didn’t know I had a restraining order on me. He wasn’t a father to me, but he’s my birth father.”
Restraining Order and Police Investigation
A Los Angeles County judge issued a restraining order against Dick in 2024, requiring her to stay away from Buckingham. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed an incident occurred in Santa Monica and that its Threat Management Unit is collaborating with the Santa Monica Police Department to investigate.
History of Harassment
The harassment began in 2021, with Dick repeatedly contacting Buckingham and his wife, Kristen Messner, claiming to be his daughter. During this time, she allegedly threatened the family, blamed Buckingham for facial deformities, and demanded money.
Escalating Behavior
While direct contact with Buckingham and Messner ceased in 2022, Dick continued to contact their son, William. The situation escalated in 2024 with a photo collage sent to Buckingham and an incident in September where she appeared at his Los Angeles home.
Police intercepted Dick at Buckingham’s home after she made a false 911 report about gunshots and self-harm, leading to Buckingham being briefly handcuffed by responding officers. A permanent restraining order was granted against Dick in December 2024.
Buckingham's Family
Lindsey Buckingham and Kristen Messner have three children: William (born 1998), Leelee (born 2000), and Stella (born 2004).
