Former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham was reportedly attacked by a woman identified as a stalking suspect in Santa Monica, California, on Wednesday, according to NBC4 Investigates.

Details of the Incident

The 76-year-old, two-time Grammy Award winner was reportedly targeted with an unknown substance while arriving for an appointment. The suspect immediately fled the scene following the incident.

The Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD) has identified the suspect but has not made any arrests at this time. Authorities confirmed to NBC4 that Buckingham was not injured in the attack.

Previous Restraining Order

This incident follows a permanent restraining order granted to Buckingham in December 2024 against an alleged stalker. It remains unclear if the two cases are connected.

Background of the 2024 Restraining Order

According to The Blast, the restraining order was issued after Buckingham testified in court and presented evidence of harassment. The woman, identified only as Michelle, allegedly began harassing Buckingham and his family in 2021.

In his petition, Buckingham stated that Michelle had made threats against his life and the lives of his family members. He expressed concern that her behavior “may escalate into something physically dangerous.”

Buckingham's Career

Lindsey Buckingham first rose to prominence in the early 1970s as part of the duo Buckingham Nicks with Stevie Nicks. He joined Fleetwood Mac in 1975, contributing to the band’s immense success.

Beyond his work with Fleetwood Mac, Buckingham has maintained a successful solo career. He is recognized for his innovative musical style and is considered one of rock’s most accomplished musicians.

Buckingham has been married to photographer Kristen Messner since 2000, and they share three children. Representatives for Buckingham and the SMPD did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
