Lili Reinhart Reveals On-Set Experience

Riverdale alumna Lili Reinhart recently recounted a troubling interaction with a male director during her acting career. The incident occurred on set, where she received a personal critique that deeply affected her.

The Damaging Acting Note

A Shocking Request

During a conversation with co-stars, Reinhart was asked about an acting note she took personally. She revealed that a male director silently leaned over and told her, “Just suck in your stomach a little bit.” This comment prompted audible gasps from those present.

Her co-stars, including Pedretti, Tung, and Shipp, pressed Reinhart for the director’s name, but she declined to reveal it. Pedretti even inquired about his address, while Tung jokingly suggested a “hex.”

Past Struggles with Body Image

Riverdale and Eating Disorder

The director’s comment appears to have touched upon Reinhart’s existing struggles with body image. Last year, the Chemical Hearts star disclosed that she developed an eating disorder while filming Riverdale Season 6.

“I really don’t like looking at season six imagery or pictures,” Reinhart shared, explaining that her thoughts were overwhelmingly focused on her body. She described feeling “disassociated” during filming, with her “entire inner dialogue” centered on her changing physique.

Health Concerns

Reinhart also revealed she had been experiencing gut issues and unexplained weight gain, undergoing tests for Celiac and Crohn’s disease. Despite these tests, she stated, “my gut’s still like, ‘Hey, b—h, you got something. You just can’t figure out what it is.’”

Recent Projects

Reinhart recently appeared in the comedy horror film, Forbidden Fruits, directed by Meredith Alloway. The film is based on Lily Houghton’s stage play, Of the woman came the beginning of sin, and through her we all die, with Alloway also co-writing the script.
