LA28 Ticket Sales Kick Off for Local Residents
The process for securing tickets to the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles is officially commencing this week. The first round of email notifications, granting access to a presale opportunity, will be distributed starting Tuesday, March 31.
Olympic officials confirmed that 5 million fans have registered their interest in attending the LA28 Games. A select group from this pool will receive notifications on a rolling basis between March 31 and April 4.
Exclusive Presale Window for LA and OKC
The initial ticket sale period is reserved solely for residents of Los Angeles and Oklahoma City. This exclusive presale is scheduled to run from April 2 through April 6.
To qualify for this early access, fans must use a payment method where the billing ZIP code corresponds to one of the designated qualifying counties.
Ticket Purchase Details and Limits
Purchasers during this phase will have the ability to buy tickets across all sports featured in the Games, including slots for the opening and closing ceremonies.
LA28 press release details the purchase limits: "Fans selected for time slots will have the opportunity to purchase up to 12 tickets for Olympic events, and up to 12 Football Tournament tickets that do not count toward the general 12-ticket maximum." There is also a specific limit of four tickets per ceremony.
Timeline and Purchasing Procedure
Each successful registrant will be assigned a 48-hour window in which they can complete their ticket purchase. Once tickets are added to the cart, the fan has 30 minutes to finalize the transaction.
Officials clarified the seat assignment process: "Tickets are purchased by category, with specific seats assigned closer to Games time, consistent with standard Olympic and Paralympic ticketing procedures."
