“Summer House” star Kyle Cooke has responded to the recently confirmed romance between his estranged wife, Amanda Batula, and fellow cast member West Wilson. The couple publicly acknowledged their relationship on March 31 via Instagram stories, addressing speculation surrounding their connection.

Joint Statement Confirms Relationship

Batula and Wilson released a joint statement explaining the evolution of their relationship. “We’ve shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what’s developed recently was the last thing either of us expected,” they wrote. They emphasized that their connection grew from a long-standing friendship and required careful consideration.

Separation and Timeline

The announcement followed Batula and Cooke’s January separation, as reported by People magazine. The couple had married in September 2021. Cooke spoke about the situation on the “So Bad It’s Good With Ryan Bailey” podcast on April 1, revealing his feelings about the unfolding events.

Cooke Expresses Concern for Batula

“I’m good. You know, I appreciate people checking in. I’m actually really worried about Amanda if I’m being honest,” Cooke stated. He explained that Batula informed him about the joint statement the night before its release and they spoke again the following night. Cooke also voiced his concern over the negative online reaction to the relationship.

Cyberbullying and Double Standards

“I understand people have all sorts of opinions, and I’m not justifying any behavior. But…she’s kind of getting cyber bullied,” Cooke shared. He also criticized the support Wilson is receiving, stating, “All I know is West seems to be the kind of guy playing multiple women at the same time. Somehow…50,000 people have decided that West deserves their follow.”

Reflecting on the Past

Cooke admitted the situation has caused him to re-evaluate the past. “It definitely makes me second guess a lot of things last summer, at a minimum. Just how checked out she was,” he said. He described the realization as a “mental mind f—.”

Current Season and Future Projects

The unfolding drama is playing out as Season 10 of “Summer House,” filmed last summer, airs. Cooke also mentioned receiving a vague text message from Wilson regarding the situation, describing it as “word salad.” He also expressed frustration with the timing, given the upcoming premiere of the “Summer House” spinoff, “In the City.”

Call for Empathy

Cooke reiterated his concern for Batula’s well-being, noting her struggles with mental health. “Amanda deals with mental health issues,” he said. “Before cyber bullying her and then giving West a follow, maybe think twice.” He also confirmed he has been in contact with Ciara Miller, who has a history with Wilson and a close friendship with Batula.
