Kendra Duggar voiced significant concerns about her children during phone calls with her husband, Joseph Duggar, following their recent arrests. The conversations, which took place from the Washington County Detention Facility in Arkansas on March 24, revealed Kendra’s emotional state regarding the custody of their four children: Garrett, Addison, Brooklyn, and another child.

Emotional Distress Over Children

“I think Friday has probably been my hardest day, but that’s crazy to say because Wednesday was crazy hard,” Kendra shared with Joseph during one call. She expressed profound sadness over the separation from her children, stating, “But it’s just like, when you then take my babies from me, they were who I was just going to pour my life into.”

Prioritizing Her Children

Kendra reiterated that her children are her primary focus throughout this difficult time. “But it’s just like, when you then take my babies from me, they were who I was just going to pour my life into,” she said. She assured Joseph that she would prioritize their well-being, stating, “I just want you to know, through all of this, whatever happens, that’s who’s coming first,” and that they would “see where the rest of it leads us and try to put the pieces together.”

Legal Charges and Family Reaction

Joseph Duggar, 31, was initially arrested in Arkansas and later transferred to the Bay County Jail in Panama City, Florida. He faces charges of lewd and lascivious behavior involving a victim younger than the age of 12 and lewd and lascivious behavior conducted by a person 18 or older, as stated by the Bay County Sheriff’s Office on March 18.

Charges Against Both Parents

Two days after Joseph’s arrest, Kendra Duggar was also arrested. Both parents are charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of false imprisonment. Joseph was released on a $600,000 bond after entering a plea of not guilty to the child molestation charges. A judge has prohibited Joseph from having unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18.

A family member reportedly urged Kendra to leave the situation, while Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have stated they are “heartbroken” over the events.
