A Prolonged Health Struggle
The Masked Singer judge Jenny McCarthy has shared details regarding a difficult medical ordeal that spanned six months. During a recent appearance on Maria Menounos' Heal Squad podcast, the 53-year-old star described the experience as a "living hell."
McCarthy’s health challenges originated with recurring dental issues, specifically an infected root canal. She discovered that "three of these little toxic pools" were hiding beneath her wisdom teeth, which continued to return despite undergoing treatment.
Unexpected Symptoms and Medical Confusion
Following her dental complications, McCarthy began to notice alarming growths on her eye. She described these as "the nastiest whitehead, pus-filled eraser top," which caused her significant concern.
Initial medical advice suggested she was not cleaning her eyes properly, a diagnosis McCarthy disputed. As the infections persisted, she consulted her functional medicine doctor to identify the root cause of her deteriorating health.
Identifying the Root Cause
After a thorough investigation, her doctor diagnosed her with mold and mycotoxin poisoning. The physician noted that while individuals with robust immune systems can often manage mold exposure, those with existing conditions like leaky gut or candida are more susceptible.
McCarthy highlighted the severity of her condition, stating, "I have a certain mold that causes seizures." She was cautioned that if the toxins crossed her blood-brain barrier, she risked hospitalization. Furthermore, she discovered the illness had made her resistant to antibiotics, though she has since implemented a new treatment plan to aid her recovery.
