Jason Kelce Joins Masters Broadcasting Team

Jason Kelce is officially making the transition from the gridiron to the golf course. The former Philadelphia Eagles center is set to take on a new role as an on-course reporter during the annual Masters Par 3 contest at Augusta National this April.

The Par 3 contest is a beloved tradition at the Masters, characterized by a relaxed atmosphere where players are joined by their families. During the event, spouses, children, and partners often serve as caddies for the competitors as they navigate the nine-hole short course.

Kelce’s Growing Golf Resume

Kelce’s involvement in the sport has been building steadily since his retirement from the NFL. He has participated in various local and national golf events, including a notable appearance alongside Shane Lowry, who served as the 54-hole leader and eventual runner-up at a previous tournament.

Broadcasting is not entirely new territory for the seven-time Pro Bowler. Earlier this month, Kelce made his debut in the TGL, where he served as a guest commentator for ESPN, gaining valuable experience in the booth.

Future Prospects: Is the PGA Championship Next?

With his newfound broadcasting experience and deep ties to the Philadelphia area, there is growing speculation about where Kelce might appear next. Many are eyeing the PGA Championship at the Aronimink Golf Club, which is located in Kelce’s own backyard.

Given that ESPN holds the broadcast rights for all four rounds of the PGA Championship, it would not be a surprise to see the network utilize Kelce’s personality and golf knowledge for future coverage. While his transition to the sport is still in its early stages, fans are eager to see if his performance at Augusta will lead to a more permanent role in golf media.
