Caitlyn Ivey, wife of NBA player Jaden Ivey, has responded to claims made by her husband regarding their communication following his recent release from the Chicago Bulls. Jaden and Caitlyn both attended Purdue University and became engaged in 2022.
Disputing the Claim
Caitlyn disputed Jaden’s assertion that she was not speaking to him, a claim he made during a livestream following his release on Monday. She shared a screenshot on her Instagram Story featuring the couple and their three children, accompanied by a message addressing the situation.
“We were communicating all morning of that day,” Caitlyn stated, directly refuting her husband’s claim made on March 31st. She also shared examples of hateful messages she allegedly received from fans after Jaden’s comments, including messages stating, “your life a f–king lie” and “you’re a s–t wife.”
A Statement of Support
Caitlyn emphasized her continued support for Jaden, stating, “If you know me you know I have never abandoned that man through all the trials.. and I still haven’t now. There is obviously a lot more going on, so leave your conspiracies and guesses to yourselves.”
Recent Struggles and Religious Rants
The couple share three children: 3-year-old Noah, 2-year-old Shiloh, and 1-year-old Isaiah. Their lives have been impacted by Jaden’s recent public struggles, which included a series of religious rants posted on Instagram.
Jaden publicly criticized the NBA’s support of Pride Month, labeling Catholicism a “false religion” during a lengthy video. He questioned the league’s acceptance of what he termed “unrighteousness.”
Bulls Release and Aftermath
The Chicago Bulls, who acquired Jaden from the Detroit Pistons earlier this year, waived the former No. 5 pick. Following his release, Jaden claimed his wife was watching his livestream but otherwise ignoring him.
“Those who are around me, those who are my family members betraying because of what I spoke. The truth. Betraying me,” he stated, alleging that family members were critical of his views and labeled him “psycho.”
Battling Mental Health
In a recent appearance on the “PinPoint Podcast,” Jaden revealed he has battled suicidal thoughts. “I’ve almost committed suicide multiple times,” he shared, adding, “And I’m not ashamed to say it. I’m not ashamed because God was merciful to keep me here.”
He described a period of struggle with injuries and a theological concept known as “once saved, always saved,” which he felt did not provide him with peace. He credited his wife with helping him through a particularly difficult moment, recalling her urging him, “Don’t do this. Don’t go down this road.”
