A plea hearing is scheduled for Thursday in the Summit County Court of Common Pleas for an Archbishop Hoban High School teacher indicted on ten counts of sexual battery.
Details of the Indictment
The indictment stems from allegations of sexual battery. Court records indicate the victim was a student at the time of the alleged offenses.
School's Response
Archbishop Hoban High School President Chris DiMauro stated the allegations do not involve a current student at the school. “We are devastated and angry that the safety of our students, which is of the utmost importance, may have been violated by someone in a position of trust,” DiMauro said in a previous statement.
Cooperation with Authorities
DiMauro confirmed that school officials immediately contacted the Akron Police Department upon learning of the allegations. “We are taking all necessary measures to support the police and their ensuing investigation,” DiMauro added.
This is a developing story.
