Girls Trip Sequel Progresses with Completed Script
Nine years after the release of Girls Trip, producer Will Packer has shared a significant update regarding a potential sequel. Packer revealed that the creative team is “closer than we’ve ever been” to making Girls Trip 2, now that the script is finalized.

According to Packer, the completed script has been distributed to the film’s cast. He emphasized the importance of taking the necessary “time, care and energy” to ensure the sequel lives up to the original. Packer stated he would rather forgo a sequel than “do it incorrectly.”

While a release date remains unconfirmed, Packer assured fans he is “hard at work” on the project, acknowledging it’s the question he receives most frequently. He shared, “I certainly hope so. We are closer than we’ve ever been…We’re getting close. I can’t give a specific date…but I am hard at work on it.”

Following the success of Girls Trip, Will Packer has produced numerous projects, including Being Mary Jane, Night School, What Men Want, and the upcoming rom-com You, Me & Tuscany, set to release on April 10th. He also produced the 94th Academy Awards, co-hosted by Girls Trip star Regina Hall.
