Eugene Mirman Hospitalized After Fiery Car Crash
Bob’s Burgers star Eugene Mirman was hospitalized after a serious car accident in Bedford, New Hampshire, on Tuesday, March 31. He was pulled from the wreckage of his burning vehicle thanks to the swift actions of a state trooper and bystanders.
Details of the Accident
According to the New Hampshire Department of Safety, Mirman, 51, was driving a 2026 Lucid Gravity SUV when it struck a toll tower and caught fire. A veteran State Trooper assigned to Governor Kelly Ayotte’s security detail witnessed the crash and immediately rescued Mirman through a window.
Heroic Rescue Efforts
“While units were responding, a veteran State Trooper assigned to Governor Kelly Ayotte’s security detail came upon the crash, saw that the vehicle was actively on fire, and observed the driver was still inside,” a press release stated. Governor Ayotte and other witnesses at the scene also assisted the trooper. The trooper’s identity is being withheld for security reasons.
Mirman's Condition and Gratitude
Mirman’s spokesperson confirmed the accident to Us Weekly on Wednesday, April 1. “Eugene was in a very scary car accident,” the spokesperson said. “He wants to thank the bystanders, state police, first responders and hospital staff who saved him. He is grateful to be on the mend.”
The spokesperson added, “At this time, we kindly ask for privacy for Eugene and his family as he focuses on recovering from his injuries.”
Investigation and Praises
Police have confirmed that no charges have been filed at this time, and the crash remains under investigation. Colonel Mark B. Hall praised the trooper’s actions as “heroic,” stating they “put themselves in danger to render aid to someone who was in need of it.”
Colonel Hall also noted that Governor Ayotte attempted to assist in the rescue, emphasizing her care for citizens. Governor Ayotte, 57, shared local news coverage of the incident on her X account and expressed well-wishes for Mirman’s recovery.
