David Beckham Praises Simon Jacquemus' Grandmother at Met Gala as Romeo Makes Debut Amid Family Feud David Beckham admires Simon Jacquemus' grandmother at the Met Gala while his son Romeo makes his debut, but estranged brother Brooklyn skips the event. The family feud continues as siblings celebrate their father's birthday without Brooklyn's participation. David Beckham, 51, expressed admiration for Simon Porte Jacquemus' grandmother Liline, 80, as she accompanied the designer to the star-studded Met Gala on Monday. Simon, 36, who founded the Jacquemus label in 2010, shared an Instagram clip of their red carpet appearance, both dressed in chic white Jacquemus suits. The pair traveled from France to New York for the event. Simon captioned the post: 'I hesitated to bring you to New York… Then I imagined myself at 80. And I realised that this is the most beautiful gift: to be taken somewhere else, by the ones we love. What an honour'.David commented: 'Your grandmother is so beautiful & so elegant'. Meanwhile, David's son Romeo made his Met Gala debut, but there was no reunion with his estranged brother Brooklyn, who skipped the event for the second year in a row. Fans had anticipated both Beckham brothers would attend the prestigious fashion event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.However, only Romeo, 23, graced the steps of the Met, invited by British heritage brand Burberry. Romeo made a splash alongside supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Burberry's ambassador, and chief creative officer Daniel Lee. Romeo wore a double-breasted jacket with leather lapels, paired with a matching shirt and tie. The absence of Brooklyn, who attended solo in 2024 while his wife Nicola Peltz spent time with her ailing grandmother, marked another year of estrangement. The brothers have not spoken for over a year amid a family feud. Shortly after his appearance, Romeo received support from his brother Cruz, 21, who posted a picture of Romeo on his Instagram story with the caption: 'There he is'. In January, Brooklyn announced his disassociation from 'Brand Beckham', criticizing his family as 'performative'.In contrast, his siblings joined their mother Victoria to surprise David on his birthday with a joint gift of chickens. Victoria, 52, shared a clip of David meeting the birds at their £15million Cotswolds estate, captioning it: 'Happy Birthday, we love you so much!!'. Romeo and Cruz also posted heartfelt tributes to their father, while Harper, 14, called him 'the best daddy in the whole world'. Brooklyn remained silent on social media, further highlighting the family rift
