Manhunt Continues for Moped Driver in Brooklyn Baby Shooting
The New York City Police Department is continuing its search for the driver of a moped involved in the shooting death of a 7-month-old baby girl in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The manhunt is now in its third day as authorities work to locate the second suspect.
Details of the Tragic Incident
On Wednesday at approximately 1 p.m., gunfire erupted at the intersection of Humboldt and Moore streets. Kaori Patterson-Moore, a 7-month-old infant, was struck by a bullet while being pushed in a stroller by her mother.
Family Seeks Shelter
During the shooting, Kaori’s mother, father, and 2-year-old brother took refuge in a nearby bodega. It was there they discovered Kaori had been hit. The baby’s father immediately transported her to Woodhull Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Suspects and Investigation
Amuri Greene, 21, who was a passenger on the moped and is believed to be the gunman, is in custody. He faces charges of murder, attempted murder, and assault. Greene is currently hospitalized with a broken leg, and his arraignment is pending.
Search for the Driver
The NYPD has identified the driver of the moped but has not yet released their name as the investigation remains active. Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage, interviewing witnesses, and pursuing leads to apprehend the suspect.
