Coaching Support During Personal Challenges

Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer has offered insight into quarterback Dak Prescott's current state following the cancellation of his wedding to Sarah Jane Ramos. The decision to call off the nuptials occurred after the couple held their joint bachelor and bachelorette parties in the Bahamas.

The news sparked concerns among fans regarding the star quarterback's mental state as he heads into a critical offseason. Addressing these worries, Schottenheimer emphasized the strength of their communication.

Schottenheimer's Perspective on Prescott

"Dak and I have had a ton of conversations," Schottenheimer stated. "He's in a really good spot, obviously. What he's dealing with is incredibly tough. But if anyone can handle it, he can."

The coach noted that he makes a concerted effort to maintain contact with his players during the break. "I try to talk to all the guys. I reach out to most of them. I actually got a plan. I'm a little bit, a little I guess obsessive, compulsive in that regard in trying to reach out to position groups to check in," he added.

Focusing on Co-Parenting

While the relationship between Prescott and Ramos is not considered reparable, the pair is now shifting their focus toward co-parenting their two children, MJ Rose Prescott and Aurora Prescott, who are two years old and nine months old respectively.

The couple began dating in the fall of 2023. Prescott proposed to Ramos on a golf course in October 2024, but the relationship ultimately concluded in early March 2026.
