Brandon Lake Addresses Faith and Political Divides

Grammy-winning Christian music artist Brandon Lake recently shared his thoughts on the increasingly blurred lines between religion and politics in a new interview on the Nashville Now podcast. Lake, a native of South Carolina, also discussed his transition to Nashville and upcoming musical projects.

Concerns About Exploitation of Faith

Lake expressed worry about the potential for Christianity to be exploited for political gain. “I’m human, so yes I worry,” he stated. He believes that God transcends political divisions, stating, “I think he’s above it all. And I think he sits with everyone on every side — if there are sides.”

New Music and Collaborations

The artist is currently preparing to release a country album and will collaborate with Lainey Wilson on a new song, “The Jesus I Know Now,” set to drop on Good Friday. Lake also spoke about the messages within his existing songs, such as “Hard Fought Hallelujah” and “When a Cowboy Prays.”

Focus on Connection and Understanding

Lake emphasized his desire to connect with listeners regardless of their beliefs. “My greatest hope is that when people get me, they get somebody that’s here to listen and here to love, and I’m trying to figure it all out myself,” he explained. He aims to foster understanding and empathy through his music.
