Families and community members are invited to the City of Berkeley’s Public Health Resources Fair on April 10th. The event will connect attendees with services and resources to support overall well-being.

Event Details

Join city staff from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the West Berkeley Family Wellness Center, located at 1900 Sixth St. The fair will feature information on free programs related to nutrition, breastfeeding support, stress reduction techniques, and parenting resources.

  • Free Giveaways: Attendees can receive fresh groceries, emergency preparedness supplies, and a planting kit.
  • Entertainment: Enjoy music from a live DJ, henna body art, a complimentary meal from Middle East Cafe, and a fun smoothie bike.
  • Family Activities: Kids will enjoy face painting and interactive activity stations.
  • Community Resources: Meet representatives from city and nonprofit services, including WIC, the Berkeley Immunization Clinic, and the Black Infant Health and Fatherhood Initiative.

Baxter Creek Gateway Park Cleanup - April 12

Join the El Cerrito Green Teams and volunteers on April 12th from 10 a.m. to noon for a park cleanup at Baxter Creek Gateway Park. Activities include litter removal, invasive plant removal, and native plant care. Registration is required, and participants under 13 must be accompanied by a guardian.

Habitat Restoration Internship

The City of Berkeley is offering a Habitat Restoration Internship on Albany Hill for college students interested in environmental work. Interns will assist with surveys, educational outreach, and native plant restoration. More information is available online.

An environmental group has signed a deal to purchase Golden Gate Fields horse track with plans to create a new East Bay waterfront park.
