Ashlee Simpson was revealed as the winner of the tenth season of the popular music competition show, 'The Masked Singer'. The singer’s identity was unveiled during the finale, with assistance in removing her elaborate Galaxy Girl costume.

“Honestly, I’m kind of freaking out right now,” Simpson admitted after the reveal. She continued, “I’ve literally had the best experience of my life here… I have grown so much here and I can’t even believe I won.”

Simpson initially didn’t anticipate a long run on the show. She explained, “Going into the show, I didn’t think I was going to be on that long, and all of a sudden I got competitive — not against my husband, because I couldn’t see him… We were both just rooting each other on and there to have a good time.”

The show’s producers were specifically seeking strong female performers. Simpson noted, “We were looking for female artists and girls that had that strong quality.” She added, “I really wanted that for Galaxy Girl, who is strong, sensitive and there to have a good time.”

Prior to her 'Masked Singer' win, Simpson completed a short residency at Voltaire at the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. She also hinted at upcoming projects, stating there is “definitely new music on the horizon.”

Simpson expressed feeling inspired by her recent performances. “I’m looking forward to playing new shows and definitely ready for that moment to release new music,” she said. She also revealed a desire to return to acting, specifically Broadway, adding, “It just gave me that itch of performing… This is my happy place.”
