Ottawa Rapid FC showcased a remarkable comeback on Saturday, defeating Calgary Wild FC 5-2 in a thrilling Northern Super League match at TD Place Stadium.

Keera Melenhorst scored two goals in the first half to spark Ottawa’s offensive push. Despite falling behind 2-1 within the first 12 minutes, the Ottawa side demonstrated resilience and tactical prowess to take control before halftime.

Melanie Forbes, Florence Belzile, and Choo Hyo-Joo also contributed to the Rapid’s scoring, leveling their season record at 1-1. This victory followed a challenging season opener where they lost 3-1 to the Halifax Tides.

Meggie Dougherty Howard and Taegan Stewart scored for the Calgary Wild, but their efforts weren't enough. Ottawa dominated possession with 59% of the ball and capitalized on their opportunities.

Montreal Roses Dominate Vancouver Rise

In a separate match, the Montreal Roses continued their impressive start to the season with a dominant 4-0 victory over the Vancouver Rise at Stade Boreale.

Tanya Boychuk led the charge, scoring twice – once before halftime and again immediately after the restart – to secure the Roses’ second consecutive shutout win. Elyse Bennett and Noemi Paquin also found the back of the net.
