Ottawa Senators forward Dylan Cozens is anticipated to join Team Canada for the upcoming Men’s World Championship in Switzerland. He will add his talent to a roster already featuring stars such as Macklin Celebrini, Mark Scheifele, and Mathew Barzal.
Canada Strengthens World Championship Lineup
Canada is actively working to build a competitive team for the prestigious Men’s World Championship, which will be held in Switzerland. The team is awaiting confirmation from players whose teams have been eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Cozens' Recent Performance
According to TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger, Dylan Cozens is highly likely to join the national team. Despite the Ottawa Senators being swept in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs by the Carolina Hurricanes, Cozens scored two goals in the series.
Breakout Season for Cozens
The 25-year-old forward had a breakout season with the Senators, recording 28 goals and 31 assists for a total of 59 points in 82 regular season games. This was his first full season with Ottawa after being traded from the Buffalo Sabres.
International Experience
Cozens has previously represented Canada on the international stage, participating in the 2020 and 2021 World Junior Championships. This experience will be valuable as he prepares to compete in Switzerland.
Additional Confirmed Players
Macklin Celebrini, Mark Scheifele, Mathew Barzal, and Morgan Rielly have already committed to playing for Team Canada. Projected No. 1 overall NHL draft pick Gavin McKenna will also be joining the team.
Canada’s management continues to evaluate players and await confirmations from those still in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, with further roster announcements expected soon.
