Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested Salah Salem Sarsour, an illegal alien originally from Jordan, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Sarsour, described as a leader within the Palestinian community, is accused of providing financial support to terrorist organizations and making false statements on immigration forms.

Arrest and Allegations

The arrest marks a significant step in efforts to ensure national security and maintain the integrity of the U.S. immigration system. Authorities allege Sarsour exploited vulnerabilities in the immigration process due to his connections to terrorism.

Previous Conviction and Entry into the U.S.

Sarsour was previously convicted for throwing Molotov cocktails at the homes of Israeli Armed Forces members. This conviction led to the initial denial of his immigrant visa application in Jerusalem, Israel. Despite this, he entered the United States in 1993 as a conditional resident.

He allegedly submitted a fraudulent application and successfully obtained a green card in 1998. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has emphasized the seriousness of the situation and its commitment to removing individuals who pose a threat to American citizens.

DHS Statement and Ongoing Investigation

Lauren Bis of DHS stated that Sarsour is a convicted terrorist who lied on his green card application to gain legal status in the U.S. She credited President Trump and ICE with removing this individual from American communities.

Authorities have been investigating Sarsour’s financial activities and alleged connections to terrorist groups for some time. The investigation is ongoing, examining his business dealings, financial records, and associations.

Financial Discrepancies

Sarsour operates three furniture stores in Wisconsin. However, he is reportedly delinquent in his property tax payments, owing over $26,000 on his Franklin residence, valued at over one million dollars. This raises questions about his financial accountability.

The case has sparked discussions regarding immigration policies, the vetting process for those seeking entry into the United States, and the importance of vigilance in identifying and addressing potential security risks. ICE’s actions underscore the government’s commitment to protecting the nation from potential threats.
