A recent participant shared their experience at the Porsche Experience Centre Toronto (PEC) during the “Experience for HER” event, a day dedicated to empowering women through high-performance driving and industry insights. The event, held on February 2026, highlighted the growing role of women in the automotive world.
A Day Dedicated to Women in Motorsport
The day began with a welcome breakfast at the PEC, located at 356 Porsche Drive in Pickering, Ontario, which first opened in June 2025. Following breakfast, attendees participated in a panel discussion featuring four prominent women from the automotive industry.
Industry Leaders Share Their Stories
Among the panelists was Erica Hoffman, a race car driver from Ottawa. The discussion centered on the evolving landscape of motorsport and automotive leadership, emphasizing the significant contributions women are making to the field. Their inspiring stories set a positive tone for the day’s driving activities.
On-Track Excitement and Expert Instruction
The highlight of the event was the on-track driving experience, divided into three dynamic modules. Participants had the opportunity to drive a range of Porsche vehicles, including the striking pale yellow 911 GTS T-Hybrid RWD, boasting 532 hp.
Mastering Low-Traction Driving
The first module focused on low-traction exercises, teaching drivers how to handle slippery conditions and master drifting techniques. Porsche driving instructor Jonathan provided guidance and encouragement, helping participants build confidence. He urged drivers to “floor the accelerator and crank the wheel” to experience controlled slides.
Pushing Limits on the Circuit
The second module involved a driver development exercise on the two-kilometer circuit, allowing drivers to reach speeds of up to 140 km/h. The track incorporated elements from famous racetracks like Laguna Seca, Daytona, and the Nürburgring, offering a world-class driving experience.
Beyond the Track: Simulation and Relaxation
Attendees also experienced the thrill of racing in a Porsche GT3 RS through a realistic simulator, virtually transporting them to Laguna Seca Raceway. To provide a moment of calm, luxury skincare brand Aesop hosted a fragrance masterclass.
The event concluded with lunch, networking opportunities, and shopping at the Porsche Lifestyle Shop. Despite the exhilarating day, the participant found comfort returning home in their Mini Cooper Convertible.
