Utah residents now have a new option to showcase their national pride with the release of a special license plate celebrating America’s 250th Independence Day.

New Patriotic Design

Available for purchase starting June 1, 2024, and concluding on July 31, 2027, the plate joins existing standard-issue designs like Ski Utah, Delicate Arch, and ‘In God We Trust.’ This offers Utahns a limited-time opportunity to commemorate the nation’s upcoming milestone.

State Officials Express Enthusiasm

Jason Gardner, a representative from the Utah Tax Commission, shared his excitement about the plate’s launch. He noted that it followed months of planning and design refinements. Gardner emphasized the importance of timing, stating the state aimed to honor the 250th anniversary and provide a tangible symbol of pride for residents.

Purchase Information

The new license plate will be available for purchase through the Utah DMV. Standard registration fees will apply. Gardner believes the design will be popular, offering a modern and patriotic alternative to current options.

Public Reaction

FOX 13 News conducted a survey to gauge public interest in the new plate. Ramon Montelongo expressed his approval and said he would consider switching to the new design. Salvador, currently using an all-black plate, also indicated potential interest.

Lynette Colton appreciated the design but plans to keep her Delicate Arch plate, while Ernie enthusiastically supported the new option as a great way to celebrate American history.

Limited Availability

Gardner reminded potential buyers of the limited availability, running from June 1, 2024, to July 31, 2027, encouraging prompt action. The introduction of this plate demonstrates Utah’s dedication to commemorating national milestones and providing residents with choices in expressing their state and national identity.
