The incident occurred on the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 near Burnham Street North in Cobourg, Ontario, while he was actively performing his duties. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the single-vehicle crash are currently underway, being jointly conducted by the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
A Respected Leader

A secondary collision occurred on Highway 401 in Cobourg on Monday involving OPP officers responding to the initial crash. Fortunately, the three officers involved were released from hospital after being treated as a precaution. An investigation into this secondary collision is also ongoing.
Prior Service
Prior to joining the OPP, Sergeant Malcolm had served with distinction as an auxiliary member of the Toronto Police Service and as a combat engineer within the Canadian Armed Forces, demonstrating a long-standing commitment to public service and safety.
