British passengers evacuated from a cruise ship affected by Hantavirus have been placed in quarantine at a hospital near Liverpool. The group arrived in the UK on a chartered Titan Airways flight from Tenerife, where they were aboard the MV Hondius cruise ship.

Quarantine Measures in Place

The 22 passengers will undergo a six-week self-isolation period at Arrowe Park Hospital, the same facility that housed the UK's first Covid-19 patients. They will spend the initial 72 hours in specialized self-isolation apartments, where clinical assessments and testing will be conducted.

Global Concerns Over Hantavirus Spread

Concerns about the spread of Hantavirus are growing, with more passengers around the world being diagnosed with the disease and its symptoms. Among the 17 Americans evacuated from the ship, one tested positive for Hantavirus, while another developed mild symptoms.

Strict Infection Control During Journey

Throughout the journey, strict infection control measures were implemented to prevent the spread of the virus. The passengers were evacuated from Tenerife to ensure their safety and to contain the potential outbreak.
