Former Made In Chelsea star Georgia Toffolo and her husband, James Watt, are currently enjoying a bank holiday getaway at a £7,500-a-night hotel in Hampshire.

Seeking Respite After Difficult Times

The couple’s retreat to the luxurious Heckfield Place follows a challenging period marked by difficulties conceiving and the collapse of BrewDog, James Watt’s former company. They booked a last-minute escape after months of stress.

A Glimpse into Their Getaway

Toffolo shared moments from their retreat on Instagram, showcasing the idyllic countryside setting and simple pleasures like enjoying a slice of Victoria sponge cake. The five-star hotel, a restored Georgian estate, typically costs £750 per night, but prices have increased to £7,500 for the bank holiday weekend.

BrewDog's Collapse and Its Impact

The need for respite comes after a turbulent year for BrewDog, which faced financial struggles and ultimately entered administration. James Watt faced criticism regarding the company’s debts, exceeding £500 million, and allegations of a toxic work environment.

Fertility Struggles and Public Scrutiny

Toffolo acknowledged the public scrutiny and its impact on their personal lives, especially as they began trying for a baby. She initially believed good health would lead to swift conception, but soon realized the complexities and potential biological factors involved.

Future of BrewDog and James Watt

Irwin Simon, the new owner of BrewDog, stated that Watt would not be returning to the company, citing his reputation as detrimental to the brand’s revival. The collapse of BrewDog resulted in the closure of 38 UK bars and the loss of 484 jobs, a significant downturn from its peak of over 120 bars across 57 countries.

While 733 staff were retained through the sale, the situation has undoubtedly taken a toll on Watt and Toffolo. Toffolo’s Instagram post, captioned ‘snuck off for the long weekend xx’, offers a glimpse into their attempt to find solace and reconnect.
