Jemima Goldsmith, the award-winning screenwriter and documentary producer, is engaged to Irish-Australian financier Cameron O’Reilly.
A New Chapter for Goldsmith
The couple, who met through their work in documentaries, are reportedly very happy together. Goldsmith, 52, is also actively advocating for the release of her ex-husband, Imran Khan, from prison in Pakistan.
Cameron O’Reilly’s Background
Cameron O’Reilly, 62, is a multi-millionaire investor with a background in media and private equity. He is the son of the late media magnate and rugby star Sir Anthony O’Reilly.
O’Reilly spent a decade within his father’s media empire before establishing Bayard Capital. This private equity fund notably acquired Landis+Gyr, a Swiss metering company, which was later sold to Toshiba for $2.3 billion in 2011.
Shared Passions and Current Focus
The couple, dating for just over a year, divide their time between O’Reilly’s home in Switzerland and Goldsmith’s residence in West London. Their shared passion for documentary-making has been a key element in strengthening their relationship.
Goldsmith’s impressive credits include the 2018 series The Clinton Affair and the Emmy-nominated The Case Against Adnan Syed. She also penned the screenplay for the 2022 romantic comedy What’s Love Got To Do With It?, which received multiple awards.
Advocacy for Imran Khan
Goldsmith, the daughter of the late billionaire financier Sir James Goldsmith, is currently focused on securing the release of her ex-husband, Imran Khan. Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan and ex-cricketer, has been imprisoned since 2023 on corruption charges.
Khan, who married Goldsmith in 1995 when he was 42 and she was 21, maintains his imprisonment is politically motivated. The United Nations has determined his detention violates international law.
Past Relationships and Recent Events
Goldsmith’s past relationships include those with actor Hugh Grant, comedian Russell Brand, literary agent Luke Janklow, and The Crown writer Peter Morgan. Her engagement to O’Reilly follows the passing of her mother, Lady Annabel Goldsmith, who died at the age of 91 six months prior.
Earlier this year, Goldsmith was fined £1,000 for failing to respond to police correspondence regarding a speeding violation. She attributed this to ongoing renovations at her £10 million Kensington home.
