Filming for the highly anticipated second series of Celebrity Traitors is underway in Scotland. Maya Jama, along with a diverse group of celebrities, has been spotted arriving at Inverness airport to begin production.

Stars Arrive at Inverness Airport

Over the weekend, numerous celebrities descended upon Inverness airport, heading to Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands, the location for the show’s filming. Maya Jama, known for her role hosting Love Island, was among the first to arrive on Sunday afternoon.

Pay Cut for Maya Jama

Interestingly, reports indicate that Jama accepted a pay cut of approximately £760,000 compared to her Love Island fee to participate in Celebrity Traitors. She was reportedly captivated by the first series while watching it with her boyfriend, footballer Rúben Dias.

Diverse Cast Lineup

Comedian Joanne McNally was also on the same flight as Jama, while Julie Hesmondhalgh (Coronation Street) and Ross Kemp (EastEnders) were seen traveling to Ardross Castle. The official cast announcement on Saturday revealed a total of 21 celebrities participating in the show.

Confirmed Participants

The cast includes singer James Blunt, actor Michael Sheen, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock of Little Mix. Other confirmed participants are mathematician Hannah Fry, broadcaster Amol Rajan, comedian Rob Beckett, and actor Sebastian Croft.

Strategic Casting and Anticipation

The BBC reportedly approached Maya Jama first, recognizing her ability to attract a younger audience. Miranda Hart arrived with her husband, Richard Fairs, via private jet. A teaser trailer, filmed in an airport arrivals area, has further fueled anticipation for the series.

The Game of Deception

Celebrity Traitors challenges contestants to identify the 'traitors' among them. The imposing Ardross Castle provides a fittingly mysterious and suspenseful backdrop for the game. The second series is expected to be a major television event.
