Barry Keoghan, the 33-year-old actor known for his role in Saltburn, has spoken openly about his recent weight loss and addressed circulating rumors regarding his personal life. The discussion took place during an appearance on Benny Blanco's Friends Keep Secrets podcast.

Weight Loss During Beatles Biopic Filming

Demanding Filming Schedule

Keoghan revealed he lost over a stone (approximately 14 pounds) while filming The Beatles: A Four-Film Cinematic Event. He attributed the weight loss to the year-long filming schedule and the effects of his ADHD medication, which can suppress appetite. “I’ve lost so much weight on this movie. I was 65 or 66 kilos and I’m like 58 kilos now,” he stated.

He emphasized that the weight loss wasn't intentional or required for his role as Ringo Starr. He explained, “No one told me to lose weight, and I didn’t need to for Ringo either. It’s more about getting into character and building stamina.” The extensive filming duration, significantly longer than the typical six to seven weeks, contributed to the physical strain.

The Beatles Biopic Details

The Beatles: A Four-Film Cinematic Event, announced last year, will chronicle the band’s journey from their beginnings in Liverpool to their global success and eventual disbandment in 1970. Keoghan stars as Ringo Starr, alongside Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison.

Keoghan also addressed recent rumors alleging infidelity during his relationship with singer Sabrina Carpenter. The couple dated for a year before separating in December 2024. Speculation arose from a blind item suggesting Keoghan had been unfaithful with TikTok influencer Breckie Hill.

Keoghan firmly denied the claims, stating, “I never confirmed or said anything about it, so I just disappeared.” He explained he withdrew from social media and public events due to the false narrative. He clarified he had never met Breckie Hill, referencing a video she posted denying the rumors.

Challenges of a Public Relationship

The actor also discussed the difficulties of maintaining a relationship while in the public eye, particularly given Carpenter’s burgeoning career. Carpenter’s song “Manchild” is widely speculated to be about their breakup. Keoghan has previously been in long-term relationships with Shona Guerin and Alyson Kierans, with whom he shares a son, Brando.
