The Actress's Unconventional Childhood

Anya Taylor-Joy has spoken about her uprooted childhood, saying it left her feeling alienated from her peers. The actress, 30, has modelled a range of quirky looks for her latest L'Officiel magazine shoot.

According to the report, Taylor-Joy was raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina before moving to the UK at age six and has previously described the move as traumatic and initially refused to learn English as she hoped they would move back to Argentina.

From Alienation to Embracing Nomadism

Now splitting her time betweeen London and Los Angeles,Taylor-Joy said she've always been nomadic by nature. She explained that moving across the world with her family from a young age left her feeling alienated from her peers, as she confessed it was difficult for her.

However, now seeing it as a positive, as it prepared her for life as an actress, she recalled but now I look at it with so much love, because I just think it perfectly set me up to live this kind of transient life.

Learning to Thrive in Different Roles

The Dune star said she thrives off being able to pick apart a different person and go, Oh, how am I going to make myself either bigger or smaller to fit into their shoes? You end up working out some of your own s**t that you didn't even realize that you needed to work out because you're clearly connected to that person for some reason.

Relationship with Husband Malcolm McRae

Discussing their relationship with British Vogue in March 2022, Taylor-Joy said I said to my partner the other day that he was my hobby. I see reading as something that I have to do. he loved it because he's the same. I've finally found someone who will happily sit in silence with me reading .

We're basically 80 years old and seven at the same time and it works really well.. Referring to the distance, she added yes,it is,but it's also kind of great because when you're together you're really valuing the time that you have.
